On Thursday 2nd November, the Faculty of Health & Wellbeing held its second bi-annual Learning and Teaching Conference.

Led by Janette Grey – Faculty Director of Academic Development, the day proved to be a roaring success. It saw colleagues from across the Faculty, CELT and TELT collaborate to deliver a diverse range of workshops and bespoke staff development events.

TELT involvement on the day included the delivery of thirteen technology focussed workshops, covering; classroom technology, event capture, Blackboard, Microsoft Office 365 and Meetoo. This provision was further galvanised by the official launch of the Technology Enabled Learning and Teaching brochure to capture and celebrate excellence across the Faculty. The resource features detailed case studies around a number of key technologies, and articles with a spotlight on innovative and pedagogically sound approaches to embedding technology in learning and teaching practice.

Feedback on the day was overwhelmingly positive, with an atmosphere full of collaborative and innovative energy. One key message from participants – the unanimous demand for more sessions! Unfortunately a difficult task with such a wealth of good practice to share, but something that can be addressed next time round!

All in all, a well-deserved celebration of academic practice whilst providing colleagues with the opportunity to explore new and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
